Story
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My mother, Tracy, has been a dedicated server in the Tampa Bay Area for over 30 years. At 58, she has faced many challenges, including the loss of my father 17 years ago. Despite these hardships, she has always been there for her family, friends, and customers. Her warm smile and tireless work ethic have touched countless lives at Lenny’s and across Tampa Bay. Tragically, Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) has led to a very unexpected leg amputation, which has prevented her from returning to her job and life as she knows it. As her family, we’re turning to you in support to help her through this extremely life-altering challenge.
What started last week as pain in her left leg led to an emergency five hour surgery assessing the veins and blood flow. Unfortunately, the outcome was not good and there was still minimal blood flow after doing everything they could to clear up the veins. Without blood flow, the doctors were then left with few options besides amputation. The second surgery happened this morning and she is now thankfully okay and in recovery but this is where the real hard work starts and where she will need our help the most.
As a server, my mother relies on her daily income, and she does not have access to paid leave. Taking time off for surgery and recovery will create a financial strain, compounded by medical bills for the procedure and follow-up care. I am reaching out to our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers to help support my mother during this challenging time.
This surgery brings immense medical costs, including extended hospital stays, physical therapy, a prosthetic leg (5,000–50,000), and home modifications to ensure her safety. Her insurance may not cover all expenses, and we’re facing potential costs of 75,000 or more for her recovery and future needs.
Your donation will help cover:
Medical bills and uncovered hospital costs
A prosthetic leg to restore her mobility
Physical therapy to help her walk again
Lost income to ease financial stress
Home adaptations for accessibility
Tracy has always been there for others, and now she needs our community’s support to regain her independence. Every dollar counts, and even just sharing this campaign with friends or local businesses can make a difference. We’ll provide updates on her recovery and how your generosity is helping her rebuild.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the the time to read, share and help my mother through this extremely difficult and life altering change. Together, we can help her start this new chapter with hope.
With sincere gratitude,
Brittany and her family
